The Pavilion

The Pavilion restaurant is relaxed and informal, but with an understated elegance. The decor is fresh and sophisticated, with rich cream and other natural shades enhancing the restaurant’s ambience. The magnificent wall and ceiling lamps in this elegant restaurant are all originals, which once graced the bathing pavilion at Muizenberg.

The view of the sea is exceptional and adds another dimension to the dining experience. During the months of June to December diners can view the whales from their table.
It serves an array of the highest quality dishes with hints of the Mediterranean and the East that highlight the creative talents of a superb culinary team.

The wine cellar at The Marine is completely unique and it is the central feature of The Pavilion restaurant. It is a floating cellar stocked with the best of South Africa's wines, with an emphasis on the wines from the Walker Bay region.

The Pavilion is open for dinner five nights a week, Tuesday through to Saturday, and is also open for breakfast every morning.

Seafood at The Marine:

Liz McGrath's inspiration for Seafood at The Marine came about after a chance visit to the seafood counter at Harrods in London. Seafood is a bright restaurant in the modern idiom. The style is informal and busy, with the emphasis on great style, friendly service and the freshness of the fish from Walker Bay. The open kitchen, with its young, talented chefs, provides diners with a close-up view of the frenetic activity.

The Seafood is modern, yet has a relaxed feel to it. The new floating glass wall-panel with a wave design and beautiful lighting is a principal feature. The restaurant is warm, sophisticated, personalised and inviting. Subtle warm lighting, bold graphic pots, black and white photography, the floating bulkhead, the wave designed glass screen, and glass sculpture all add up to a visual feast to pre-empt the culinary feast.

The Seafood at The Marine, is open daily for lunch and dinner.

The Sun Lounge:

On entering the hotel, guests can enjoy enticing views of the sea and the warm, inviting lounge. The vast expanse of Walker Bay is drawn into the reception area, bringing light and amplifying the space. A sophisticated cocktail bar and a lounge is available for both hotel residents and local visitors to relax and enjoy the view. Incorporated into the design is a small area dedicated to the Seafood Express One Plate Café.

The Seafood Express:

Adjoining The Sun Lounge is The Seafood Express One Plate Café, offering you a convenient, upbeat, light seafood menu. The dishes are prepared by the same chefs that have come to make The Seafood Restaurant so popular with our guests.

Enjoy the sights and flavours of Walker Bay from the cafe whilst sipping on a glass of wine. The menu features a selection of regional wines, which are available by the glass to complement your seafood experience.

The Seafood Express is open seasonally: daily from 12:00 until 16:00, from 1 September until 31 March.
