This small farm house hotel is set in a vineyard, 200 metres above sea level in beautiful and peaceful countryside.
The hotel offers 6 comfortable rooms with private bathroom, 14 self catering cottages, 2 swimming pools, large gardens, and friendly staff to ensure that all guests have a memorable stay.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 16 days before date of arrival, 20 percent of all nights will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, 70 percent of all nights will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 20.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
Deposit Policy: 20 percent of the total amount will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable.

There is a basic welcome pack in the cottages and fresh bread will be delivered every morning.
For guests staying in the rooms, breakfast and dinner can be taken in the ancient kitchen or in the garden. Breakfast is a small but very complete buffet.
Dinner is a set menu of wholesome country food. The food we serve is generally not available in restaurants, and is based on local dishes.
A fixed menu dinner of local country food is available to
guests, and is served in the garden during spring and summer.

Quint das Vinhas is very well situated on the South east coast of Madeira Island. This is both the sunniest and less developped side of the island. For nature lovers and walkers, we are within easy reach of the high plateau of Paúl da Serra, the waterfall of Rabaçal, the anicent trees in the Fanal which are the last remnants of the indigenous flora. For surfers we are minutes away by car from Jardim do Mar and Paúl do Mar.
There are also good mountainbiking trails in Fonte do Bispo, not to mention all the walking possibilities.
We are also 5 minutes by car from the golden beach at Calheta. This can be crowded in Summer, but is blissful in winter and spring.
Calheta also boasts a fabulous arts complex, Casa das Mudas, which is architecturally stunning to see, even if there are no exhibitions at the time.

Quinta das Vinhas is situated about 35 minutes from Funchal, and 50 minutes from the airport.
Take the road to Ribeira Brava, up to where the motorway ends.
At the roundabout take the first right, and you will go through a tunnel which takes you to another roundabout, where you take the second exit to the right. This will take you on a coastal road through Lugarde baixo and on to Ponta do sol. through a tunnel.
You come out of the tunnel onto another roundabout which has a sculpture in steps. Take the second exit to the right to Calheta (do not go into Ponta do Sol).
This will take you on a coastal road to madalena do Mar.
After Madalena do Mar the road takes you through another tunnel and on to another roundabout where you will take the second exit to the right, signposted Calheta (Do not go into Arco da Calheta).
You will go through 2 tunnels and come out at a roundabout. Take the second exit to the right signposted Prazeres.
You will go through another 2 tunnels, and will see a signpost to Estº da Calheta. Do not turn off here, but keep going a few metres on to the second sign Estº da Calheta. There is a sign to Quinta das Vinhas.
Follow this road for 0,8 Km, and you will see a large marine pine tree. The gate to uinta das Vinhas is a few metres on, on the right, and in front of the new health centre (Centro do saude). The wall is painted ina reddish coulour, with Qtª das Vinhas in tiles.
Drive down carefully on the cobble stones, and park your car on the left by the main house.
