Kraków

Kraków
Wawel Castle, Main Market Square (Rynek Glowny), Kosciol Mariacki (St Mary's Basilica), Sukiennice (the Cloth Hall), Florian’s Gate, Jagiellonian University, Kościuszko Mound – these are far not all of more than six hundred historical sites that Krakow, a millennia-old Polish city, is famous for. It used to be a historical and cultural center of Poland for centuries and remains such nowadays. Legend says that the city is so old that humans are only the second race dwelling here: the first were dragons, living in the caves nearby.

We don’t have any serious evidence of dragons; however, their evolutionary rivals of species homo sapiens have many celebrities, who used to live here. Names of Ioann (John) Paul II, Stanislaw Lem, Vistulav Shimborsk, Yuzef Pilsudski, Tadeusz Kościuszko, Jansky Mateyko, Copernicus, Tadeush Kantor, Kazimierz the Great are inseparably linked to Krakow.
Beautiful legends are associated with this place, e.g. story about city’s founder Prince Krakus and his daughter Vanda, who plunged into the water because she didn’t want to marry a German knight; or the legend about terrible dragon beaten by the son of King Krakus.

All these incredible sites, colorful legends and rich hystory attract a lot of interested tourists, who strive for visiting Krakow, and, for their sheer delight, many cheap hotels in Krakow have a motto “Stay longer pay less.”
You can find Krakow apartments and studios, originally projected and completely settled with a kitchen and a bath. Most of cheap Krakow Hotels are located in the centre of the city, but there are many budget Krakow accommodations in the Old City too.
Cheap Krakow hotels’ ‘day’ and ‘night’ begin at 12.00 am and 12.00 pm respectively. However, if you come earlier, you can always put your bags with the doorman at the reception and after that simply walk, taking pleasure in beginning of acquaintance with Krakow.

When you come to Krakow as a tourist you can also experience the therapeutic effects of numerous spa and body care treatments at spa salons and hotels in Krakow. It’s notable that Krakow hotels’ location has an influence on if it 1 star hotel in Krakow or 5 star hotel in Krakow.

When it comes to churches, Krakow can hardly be outnumbered. You’ll see a plenty of very beautiful Roman-Catholic churches (Kosciols) here. Crypts in the basements may be opened in some of them in the afternoon. You’ll be able to come to see the relics.
If you seek for a field of view of the Krakow, then Mounds are exactly what you need. They have ever been thrown up on high hills existing for a long time with the aim of enjoyment with the Krakow’s panorama. The most widely available and popular mound is Kościuszko Mound.

There are numerous caves in Ojcowski National Park, 16 km north of Krakow, and also you’ll see a realy charming view: summit of cliff and the lake of magic beauty with the clear water surrounded with rock spreads at the foot of cliff.
Various cafes (kawiarnia), bars, milk bars (bar mleczny), restaurants are abundant in Krakow with nice cuisine and the cheapest prices in Poland. People visit restaurants not only to simply consume food, but also to spend time in pleasant atmosphere. If you want to have a beer or a cup of coffee with your friends, the best place to do it is the Market-place (Rynek Glowny).  There are a lot of sights and interesting places in different Poland cities and towns, and Krakow is said to be one of the most – if not the most – interesting one.
