National Palace of Culture (1.5 km) - cultural and congressional centre and the largest multifunctional complex in Southeastern Europe. Inaugurated in 1981 and situated in lush green park surroundings.
National Gallery for Foreign Art (1.2 km) - situated within an imposingly attractive 19th century building, the gallery's permanent exposition features European, Asian (Buddhist, Japanese and Indian) and African art, as well as separate contemporary art and engraving sections.
St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (1.2 km) - this truly striking cathedral includes a 45 metre high gold-plated dome. There is a museum of Bulgarian icons inside the cathedral crypt, whilst it is claimed that the museum contains the largest collection of Orthodox icons in Europe. Around the cathedral, a small flea market is often held.

- Exit either station onto Maria Louiza Boulevard.
- Bear right, cross the road and head down Hristo Botev Boulevard.
- The hotel is almost immediately on the left.
